The ego will paint itself over the world, to try to confirm its own existence.
It uses opinions and layers of identity, such as gender, social status, tribe and race, even sports team affiliation, to create and identifiable self.
Some aggressively assert themselves, while others identity with ailments, challenges and setbacks, which, whether real or imagined becime part of the projected identity.
The ego never ceases in this activity. It is compelled by a deep terror of non-existence to constantly assert and reassert it’s existence.
Yet this activity is really all the ego is. It drowns in the well for which it thirsts.
Beneath this exhausting activity is the ground of true being, the Self.
It is right here. Intimately close. Infinitely accepting and loving. Taste it. Allow it. Be it.
