Drowning, waving

There’s this, sort of intellectual question about spiritual paths and whether, since they are causal, they can lead to awakening, which transcends causation.

Adopting a spiritual path, or spiritual practice is like a drowning person waving their arm above the waves. It attracts grace.

Most people don’t even know they’re drowning. But you’ve realised that. It’s a kind of awakening in itself, just to realise you’re drowning. It starts a search.

You can’t actually pull yourself out of the water, but you can wave your hand. It’s a mystery. A real beauty that happens. Grace and love.

Now the ocean isn’t threatening anymore. You are the ocean. You can swim in it, or just be it.
