Imagine a square of cloth suspended from each corner, and a small sphere, like a marble, rolling round the cloth.
We can take this as an analogy for life. At first, we identify as the marble, rolling around. Karma is the indentation made by the marble. The indentation attracts things on the surface, to the marble. Depending where the marble rolls, so are the objects of attraction found.
In awakening we find that there is no difference between the marble and the cloth. The marble and it’s effect are one. The marble and the cloth are one.
Ultimately we are the cloth and the marble is a knot within the cloth, magically rolling around. They are one, indistinguishable.
Karma is transcended in awakening, because The Self is the seamless reality in which all cause and effect take place.
