Desire, disguised

Who can know the joy of this heart?

how it sings now

how it soars, and

how it bends low and kisses your feet

how every desire I ever had,

the good, the bad, the secret, the mad

was desire for you, disguised

O Lord, touch the heads of the junkies and the scoundrels

lift up the the business people and the traders

save the murderers and the thieves

for in their lust, they too,

desire you.
